Emergency First Response - Primary and Secondary Care Course

Do you have the confidence to help a loved one with a serious medical injury?  Would you be able to manage an accident site at a dive location?  The ability to provide CPR/first aid assistance is a skill that has application in all areas of our lives. Whether you are a diver, parent, school teacher, childcare worker, a builder in the construction industry or setting up your own business, you may find yourself in a situation where you need to provide emergency care for someone.  This course is also a prerequisite for the PADI Rescue Diver Course.

Course Prerequisites:

10 years of age or older.  This course can also be completed by non divers...anyone who is interested in helping another in need!

What You Will Learn:

Primary Care (CPR) teaches participants how to respond to life-threatening emergencies. The course focuses on primary care through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to provide care when emergency situations arise.

Secondary Care (first aid) covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening. Participants focus on secondary assessment and first aid through knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice.  Your qualified Instructor is a competant caregiver who will  lead you  through the above modules.  By realistic scenarios he will teach you the skills needed to handle any medical emergency that might arise in your everyday life.

*Standard Extra*

The Emergency First Response Automated External Defibrillation (AED) course builds on the skills learned in the Primary Care (CPR) course to teach the proper AED use. This life saving device can increase a patient's chance of survival from a cardiac arrest by fifty percent. During this course you'll review the basic principles of Primary Care (CPR) and learn how to deploy and use an AED in an emergency situation.  As divers its also important to know the value of 100% oxygen in a diving emergency.  For this reason we also include oxygen set up and use in our EFR courses.

Course Cost: £130 including a manual, bandage pack and certification.  For course dates please see the 'Activities' section on our front page.
