Inland Dive Site Training

The UK offers some excellent coastal diving.  From stunning wrecks on the South Coast to quality diving out of Cornwall, Scilly Islands and the Bristol Channel...there is something to please everyone.  Oxygene Cranleigh has a full 2013 schedule planned.  Please browse our UK dive dates under the tabs to the left if you are interested.

Unfortunately the UK summer weather is not the most predictable and for this reason our Open Water training along the coast often ends up cancelled or postponed.  There is another alternative though....inland dive sites.  These are usually lakes or abandoned gravel pits that have been converted into diver training locations.  The closest one to Oxygene Surrey is Wraysbury Lake.  Along the M25, towards Heathrow Airport it offers a protected and shallow location for training be it the 4 Open Water dives required for the PADI Open Water Certification or Advanced Open Water Dives, Drysuit Speciality Dives, Rescue Course dives and more.  The facilities include a licensed cafe, change rooms, carpark and a tank filling room.

Vobster Quay is around 2 hours drive from the dive centre towards Somerset.  This location is a disused quarry and has a maximum depth of 30m.  With excellent facitilites including changing rooms, cafe, shop, car parks it offers an interesting alternative to Wraysbury Lake.  With the increased depth it is possible to complete the Deep dive for the PADI Advanced course, Deep dives for the PADI Deep Speciality, PADI Drysuit Specialty training dives and more.

Our Wraysbury/Vobster weekends are designed for students to finish off courses here in the UK.  The prices include training, gas fills, equipment rental and certifications.
